Meanwhile, Nerine waited patiently for Alex to finish his communications, hoping that he was able to talk to Lady Penelope and understand the situation from her. She was worried about the shapeshifter's reaction if they couldn't know where Lycoris was soon, that she could harm anyone.

Alex quickly finished talking to his parents and once he was done, he turned to Nerine and said,

"Ok, I'm done, darling."

He then told Nerine about his conversation with Lady Penelope and then with his parents afterwards.

Nerine listened to what Alex had to tell her and after he was finished, she nodded slowly in understanding and replied,

"Okay, I understand now...Well, I can see why the shapeshifter is in a hurry now but I'm still worried about what she might do if she didn't obtain the information anytime soon. Do you think Lady Penelope would be able to convince her to delay things a little bit?"

Alex replied, "Lady Penelope didn't seem hopeful but she said she'll try.  Maybe if our family doctor checks on the shapeshifter and finds a way to treat her condition, she won't be in such a rush.  But still, I should do my part to find out where Lycoris is."

(Random but I ended up buying a new comp mouse today so much better now, especially for gaming.  Also, if my posts are slow, it's because I'm currently beta testing the game I've been editing.  If all goes well, it'll be released towards the end of this month.  XD)

(Ahh no problem and I am glad to hear that. I hope all goes smoothly. I am curious to see it all released and all. XD)

Nerine nodded in agreement and replied, 

"Then you should talk to Ryan as soon as possible and let him know about this. Well, I am sure he'd be worried for Sia's sake at least so he'll talk to her or something."

Alex nodded and replied, "I'll do that now.  Should I talk to him personally or just use my telepathy?  It would be faster if I communicated with him telepathically although it does use up a bit of my magic power."

Nerine looked a little lost for a moment but then her eyes came over the clock and she noticed the time. She said,

"Listen, it's almost lunchtime. Everyone must be gathering downstairs and Ryan will probably be there too. Maybe you can talk to him either before or after lunch?"

Alex replied, "Then I'll talk to him right after lunch.  That's a good plan.  Do you want to be with me when I talk to him or would it be better if I talk to him by myself?  I know he isn't easy to be around, darling, and I want you to be happy and at ease always."

Nerine sighed a bit and Alex did read her mind. She definitely didn't like being around Ryan, as she thought he was difficult to deal with especially when it came to anything to do with Lycoris. So smiling a bit to Alex, she said,

"Yeah, I'd appreciate it if you talked to him by yourself, Alex. I just don't get along with him very much, you know? And I have the feeling he doesn't like me either."

Alex nodded and smiling softly, he replied, "I understand, darling.  After I talk to him, I'll go find you but I don't see how anyone can't adore you."

He looked lovingly at Nerine.

Nerine blushed happily and replied, "Well, there is someone out there but I don't care. I have you in my life after all and that's all I want."

She leaned in for a loving kiss.

Alex happily leaned in to give Nerine a sweet, loving kiss on the lips, wrapping his arms around her and enjoying the moment.  After the kiss was over, he said,

"I love kissing you, darling.  I adore you always."

Nerine returned Alex's loving looks with ones of her own and happily said, "Me too, Alex. I love you so much and always will."

Noticing the time, she giggled a bit and said, "We should go downstairs now. We'll keep everyone waiting if we stay to enjoy each other's company here."

Alex chuckled and replied, "Yes, you're right, darling, and it would be rude to keep the others waiting.  Shall we?"

He gently held Nerine's arm and led the way out of their room and downstairs to the dining room to have lunch with the others.

In the dining room, Avi, Bryan and Rosaline had already gathered for lunch when they saw the couple come down. Rosaline smiled at them and said,

"Here you are, you two. How was your morning?"

As Alex helped Nerine into her seat and then took a seat beside her, he smiled softly and replied,

"We had a wonderful morning in each other's company.  How was yours?"

Ryan then entered the dining room and after giving a polite nod to everyone, he took his seat at the table.

Rosaline replied to Alex with a smile, "It was fine. Bryan and I had each other for company and it's more than enough."

Turning to look at Ryan, she noticed that he was quiet. Looking gently at him, she asked,

"What about you, Ryan? How was your morning?"

Ryan smiled softly and replied, "Oh it was fine.  I checked up on Sia and then took a walk in the gardens."

Bryan asked, "How is Sia?  Is she sick?"

Ryan nodded, "She wasn't feeling well but after she took some soup I suggested, she seems to be getting better.  She's sleeping now but I'm going to check up on her this afternoon."

Nerine was a little worried as she heard about Lisianthus' condition although she was glad to hear that she was getting better. Meanwhile, Rosaline smiled a bit and nodding, she said,

"That's good to hear. She should take it easy. It must be that all the recent events have been quite stressful for her, I guess?"

The maids soon arrived with trays of lunch and laid it out in front of the party, before taking their leave.

Ryan nodded and replied, "Yeah, I think so and it is understandable.  I insisted that she take it easy for today and rest, despite that she wanted to work."

Bryan replied, "It's good that Sia listened to your advice."

Rosaline nodded as well and replied, "That's true and it will make her recovery quicker."

Avi then commented, "Let's start eating then, everyone, before the food starts getting cold."

The party then started having their lunch, which was hot and delicious.

Alex, Bryan, and Ryan all began to eat the food and Alex commented,

"It is delicious although I can't wait to have my darling's cooking again."

He looked fondly at Nerine.  Bryan commented,

"You know, maybe Nerine can use the kitchen here sometime and cook something for you, Alex, if Nerine's ok with the idea."

Nerine's eyes lit up at the idea and nodding happily, she said, 

"I'd love that. You know what, I have an idea. I can go to the kitchen and ask the cooks that I prepare dinner for tonight. I can prepare a lot of food for everyone and it will be hot and delicious. I miss cooking very much. What do you all think?"

Alex nodded happily and replied, "Yes, that's a wonderful idea, darling.  I've missed your cooking and would love to have it again."

Bryan smiled softly and added, "I would like that as well."

Ryan nodded although he didn't say anything.

Avi grinned and nodding as well, he said, "It's been such a long time since I've tasted your cooking, Nerine, and I am eager to see how much it has improved."

Nerine smiled happily and said, 

"That's great. I'll do my best to cook you all a very wonderful meal. I'll talk to the cooks right after lunch then."

She continued eating happily, already planning in mind what she would make for dinner.
