Irene replied,

Yes, of course I will. You too, please let me know if anything else happens regarding Ryan or Lisianthus.

Alex replied,

I will.  I'll talk to you later then.


He shut off the telepathy and turning to Nerine, he said, 

"There have been some interesting developments, darling."

He then told Nerine of his conversation with Irene, not leaving out any details.

Nerine listened carefully to everything Alex told her about his conversation with Irene and when he was done, she replied,

"I see. At least she talked to Lycoris. I hope that idea works out and maybe we can find Lycoris contacting her back soon."

She paused then said, "She suggested that we talk to Ryan, huh?"

Alex nodded and replied, "Yeah, she did.  He seems to hold the key to getting Sia to be happy again.  What do you think?  Should we talk to him about this?"

Also, he was thinking to himself about speaking to the shapeshifter to update her on the situation with Lycoris.

Nerine shrugged and replied, "Maybe. I don't know. I suppose it's worth a shot. I mean, I'm worried about Sia and I don't want to see her like this for long. If talking with Ryan will help things, then sure."

She didn't like Ryan very much so that was why she was hesitant.

As though Alex knew what Nerine was thinking, he looked gently at her and asked,

"Do you not want to talk to Ryan?  I can see why you wouldn't.  I can talk to him alone if that would be better."

As he didn't want Nerine to feel uncomfortable, Alex decided to make the offer.

Nerine looked tentatively at Alex and replied,

"You won't mind? I can come if you want. Umm it's just that I and Ryan were never on really good terms so going to talk to him doesn't sound like the most fun thing in the world to do. But I can come with you if you don't want to go alone."

Alex replied, "I think you should stay here and rest, darling.  I can talk to Ryan alone but I can keep up the telepathy with you so you can help me out if I need it.  How does that sound?"

Nerine nodded and smiling softly, she replied,

"Well, alright, if you're sure. Thanks a lot, my Alex, for your understanding. You're the best."

She leaned in for a quick, grateful kiss.

Alex smiled softly and replied, "No problem, darling.  Oh but I was thinking that I should talk to the shapeshifter to update her on what's going on with the Lycoris situation.  What do you think I should do first?"

Nerine thought about it quickly then replied,

"Oh I guess you should talk to the shapeshifter first. That won't take long, I think. You'll just let her know of everything that happened, right? Talking to Ryan may take longer than that though."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yeah, that's true and the shapeshifter didn't like it last time when I didn't update her right away on what's going on.  I'll do that now."

Closing his eyes, he opened up the telepathy and reaching out to the shapeshifter, he said,

Hey, it's me.  Are you there?

The shapeshifter received Alex's message and was glad that he was contacting her, as that meant he probably had some news. She replied,

I am here. How is everything on your side?

Alex replied,

We're all right.  Is everything ok with you, your mother and the chancellor?  And how are my parents?


He wanted to get all the pleasantries out of the way so he could then update about the situation with Lycoris.

The shapeshifter replied,

We're all fine and your parents are well too. Nothing much on our side.

She paused and getting direct to the matter, she asked,

Are there any news?

Alex replied,

There is.


He then told the shapeshifter about Irene contacting the other Lycoris and how things had gone.  He then said,

I think we just need to be wait and the real Lycoris will come back soon.
