Stacey and Megan looked happily at the sea as well and Stacey replied,

"It is a beautiful sight. How you think the ocean here compares to the one near Lessire?"

Alex held both of Nerine's hands in his own and after taking a deep breath, he gently asked,

"Is everything all right, darling? I noticed that there's something different about you."

William replied,

"I think this one is more beautiful. It's wider, and the water is much clearer. And the scenery too is much more magical."

Nerine knew inside what Alex was referring to but decided to act unaware. So smiling widely, she replied,

"You probably mean my hair, right? Is it more beautiful this way? I thought a change wouldn't hurt."

Megan nodded happily and replied, "Yup, I feel the same way!"

Stacey added, "It does feel more beautiful here. We'll have lots of wonderful memories from this vacation."

Alex replied, "Umm yeah, I do like what you did with your hair but that wasn't really what I meant. I mean, there seems to be a change inside of you but are you happy?"

He was trying his best to be tactful in approaching the subject.

William nodded happily in total agreement and replied,

"That's totally true but I feel like anywhere I am with you, I'll always have good memories. My whole life will be full of such memories."

Nerine nodded happily but in her eyes, that look was beginning to form again although she was unaware. She replied,

"Yup, of course I am! How can I not be when you're here with me, huh?"

She looked flirtatiously at him although it looked more creepy because of that look in her eyes.

Stacey and Megan blushed happily and Megan replied, "And I'll have lots and lots of happy memories with both of you. I never thought I could be so happy again."

Stacey smiled and replied, "I feel exactly the same way."

Alex was unsure of what to make of the look in Nerine's eyes but he carefully replied,

"You know that it's ok to be upset at me, right? You have the right to be. I haven't treated you well and I want to atone for my past mistakes."

William smiled warmly and replied, "Same here. I want everything to be perfect for us, so we can always be this happy and more. I never thought I'd smile happily again."

Nerine kept her happy smile and replied,

"It's okay! I forgave them and I want us to be happy now so forget it! Let's just be happy together and love each other."

Stacey turned to William and reaching out to touch his hands, she replied,

"I'm happy that our lives have turned for the better."

Megan added, "And we'll always be happy as long as we have each other."

Alex was unsure of what to make of Nerine's happiness-of whether it was genuine or fake-but he didn't think it would be a good idea to continue pursuing the idea that Nerine was hiding her true feelings.

So finally, he nodded and replied, "Well, if that makes you happy. But if there's something on your mind, you know you can tell me, right?"

(It's getting a bit late here so I should get off for the night now and get some sleep. I'll check back tomorrow and post again. Nite, nite, Love. ^^)

William smiled warmly and replied, "I'm sure we'll always be."

They continued watching the sea and at that moment, the afternoon was saying its goodbyes, and the sun was slowly setting as its light beautifully reflected over the clear water.

Nerine smiled and nodded, but didn't say anything. If telling Alex what was on her mind helped, she wouldn't have been there now, she wouldn't have been acting like Lycoris. But it didn't help and this was her last choice.

She said, "Well, if that's all, we should probably return to the others. We shouldn't keep them waiting now, should we? They might start worrying."

(Oh, and since I'm not so good at describing how Nerine's strange look is, I thought a picture could do it. XD This and this would be along the lines I am going for. XD)

Stacey and Megan gazed at the sunset and Stacey commented,

"This is the most beautiful time of the day, don't you think?"

Megan nodded and replied, "Yup, the sunset's so pretty."

(Ahh I see. Man, that is scary. O.O)

Alex nodded and replied, "Umm ok."

He figured that he would try talking to Nerine later in private to figure out what was going on.

William smiled and said,

"It's definitely a beautiful sight and I love the sunrise, too. I'd like to see that here sometime."

(Ahh yup but although Nerine maybe losing it, she won't hurt anyone. Well, she did hurt Lycoris but that was last time. XD She's more upset than angry now.)

Nerine heard a little hesitation in Alex's voice and wondered if, just if, Alex could possibly disliked her change and wanted his Nerine back? She looked to him although her happy smile was still there, she asked,

"Aww Alex, is everything ok? You sound as though you don't like my new change?"

Stacey replied, "Sure, we can do that. We'll have to wake up early but the inn has a wake up call service so we can use that if we want to get up early to see the sunrise."

Megan replied, "I want to see it!"

Alex replied, "Umm, I'm worried about you, darling. Is everything ok? This sudden change and all...I don't know what to make of it."

William nodded and replied,

"Sure, I'd like to see it as well. We can do that tomorrow. It wouldn't hurt if we woke up an hour early to see such a beautiful sight."

Nerine kept her smile as she replied,

"But I thought you will like this new change? I thought it will make you happier and have you like me more."

Stacey nodded and replied, "Sure and we can go to sleep early if we want enough rest to see the sunrise."

Megan added, "And I can do a drawing of it, too."

Alex reached out to gently caress Nerine's right cheek and softly, he replied,

"You don't need to change for me, darling. I like you for yourself. That's why I fell in love with you in the first place. If this is all because of how I behaved before, I'm truly sorry. I know how much I hurt you and I want to make amends for my wrongs."

William smiled and replied,

"I'd love to see a drawing of that from your hands, Megan. I bet it would be very beautiful."

If this was Alex's first time to say such words, Nerine might have believed him. But she heard these words many times before and nothing ever changed for the better.

So keeping her smile, she replied,

"It's okay. I know you like Lycoris more so I'll make sure to be like her so that you're happy. You don't need to keep saying that you truly love me and such. I know you don't love me but I want to have your care and love back."

Megan blushed and replied, "Aww thanks. I'll prepare my things tonight so I can bring them with me when we see the sunrise first thing."

Stacey replied, "That's a good idea."

Alex looked confused and replied, "Why do you believe that I love Lycoris more and that I don't love you? I would have told you if either were the case. If it's because I've been paying more attention to Lycoris lately, I'm sorry. I should always put you first because you're my wife."

William nodded and replied, "Sounds great. And I'll tell the inn employeees to wake us early in the morning so we don't miss it."

Nerine momentarily forgot about her idea and replied quietly,

"You don't need to say it. Actions speak louder than words and your actions never said that you love me. You didn't pay attention to Lycoris only recently, you always pay attention to her if she is around. I am nothing if she's here."

She gave him a grin and then happily continued,

"But we shouldn't talk about that now. Everything will be fine and happy!"

Stacey grinned and replied, "Sounds great. So tomorrow morning, we'll get up, get ready and head to the beach to see the sunrise. Then we can have breakfast afterwards."

Megan nodded and replied, "I like that."

Alex didn't say anything more and despite Nerine's outward happy demeanor, Alex felt more depressed than anything. He turned his head to the side so that Nerine wouldn't see the lone tear that was sliding down his cheek. He missed the Nerine he knew and he knew that he had somehow caused this change in her and he didn't know how to fix the mess he had made.

William nodded happily and replied, "Me, too."

He noticed that it around dinnertime so he said, "How about some dinner now? Or do you want to swim more first?"

Nerine noticed that Alex turned his head to the side although she couldn't see the tear, and didn't know what to make of it. But nevertheless, she took his hand gently and making up the excitement, she said,

"So come on, we can walk around the gardens together if you like! We'll just have to avoid the roses. Or we can go back to the others and chat!"

Megan thought about it and then replied, "Can we swim a little more? Please, pretty please?"

She gave a cute, adorable look to William and Stacey and Stacey giggled. Stacey then replied,

"There's enough sun left so I'm fine with swimming a little more. We can build up our appetite for dinner."

Alex wiped away the tear and turning back to Nerine, he quietly replied, "Umm let's walk in the gardens. I don't really feel like talking to the others right now."

William chuckled and replied,

"I am fine with that too."

He got up and helped Stacey and Megan up then led the way to the water.

Nerine nodded and replied,

"Sure thing."

She held his arm and waited for him to lead the way through the gardens.

Once everyone was in the water, they swam around happily, enjoying the cool water. As the sun was setting, people began to leave the beach, packing their things and such.

Alex held Nerine's arm and led the way to the gardens. He made sure to avoid the areas that had roses and although he usually would have been up for conversation, he felt like being quiet so he just took in his surroundings.

The family continued swimming happily for a while before William noticed it was getting dark. He said,

"We should probably head back now. It's getting dark and the water is becoming cold."

Nerine walked by Alex's side but noticed he was pretty quiet which was unusual for him. She knew she'd have to make conversation if she wanted to keep up her happy demeanor so she said,

"The garden are very nice today, right?"

Stacey noticed how late it was and nodding, she replied,

"Yup, you're right, handsome, and we wouldn't want to get sick being out here too long."

Megan nodded and the three of them swam back to the beach.

Alex gave Nerine a small smile and then nodding, he quietly replied, "Yup, they are. It helps that the weather is good."

He continued to walk although he didn't make an attempt to continue the conversation.

William nodded and led the way to the shore, where the family changed out of their swimsuits and back into their clothes. After they were all done, he said,

"So what would you like for dinner tonight?"

Nerine saw that Alex didn't continue the conversation and didn't know what to think. Was he really that sick of her that he couldn't even stand her as she acted like Lycoris? Could he bear her presence no more?

Seeing as how he didn't like talking to her, she didn't say anything anymore but did her best to keep her smile steady.

Stacey replied, "I'd like some grilled salmon, if that's all right."

Megan replied, "Fish sounds good. What about you, William?"

As the couple continued to walk in the gardens, Alex couldn't help but ask,

"Are you happy, darling? Just be honest with me, ok?"
