William shook his head and smiling, he replied,

"Nope, I am fine. I'd like to get some work done and once we're back home, I can have your delicious dinner. Nothing else compares with that."

Irene replied,

I'm fine. But you and Lisianthus? How are you two? I heard that the chancellor sent some soldiers after you again. Are you two alright?

Lycoris blushed happily and replied, "Aww but I am not flattering. I am honestly speaking the truth. And how can I not be happy when I am in your presence?"

Although Nerine was busy chatting with Avi, she could see the exchanges between the couple and was getting more jealous.

Stacey blushed happily and replied, "Aww all right, handsome. I'll make sure to cook you a delicious dinner once we're home and there will be plenty of food."

Mark returned carrying a bottle of water with him. He saw Stacey and after greeting her, he handed William the bottle and said,

"Here you are, mate. I see that Stacey's keeping you company."

Ryan replied,

Yes, we're all right. The soldiers are here with us and there are some soldiers loyal to Sia who have just arrived so there's more protection for her now.

Umm, I heard from Sia what happened and I know why you didn't wish to talk to me about the matter before. Are you still upset at her? I can understand if you feel that way.

Alex gave Lycoris a kiss on her cheek and then replied,

"I'll do my best to spend as much time with you as possible. I'm always happy when I'm with you, darling. Even on a cloudy day, you're like a ray of sunshine."

William took the bottle from Mark and smiling gratefully to him, he replied,

"Thanks, Mark. And yup, my pretty has kept company for a while now and I am happy with her presence."

He looked lovingly at her then drank a little water from the bottle.

Irene sighed and after being silent for a moment, she replied,

I am still a little angry at Lisianthus and I don't know if I am ready to talk to her yet. But Ryan, I want you to know that I am still on your side. She may have hurt me but I know she is not a bad person and I won't abandon you two. I'll help you still if I can.

Lycoris blushed happily as Alex said those sweet words to her and she replied,

"Do you still write poetry, Alex? I see that you are still as talented as ever and still quite the romantic guy."

Stacey blushed happily and watched William as he continued to work. A little later, the bell rang to signal that it was time for everyone to get back to work. Stacey turned to William and said,

"I should head back to uncle's office so let's meet at the entrance when we're done, ok?"

Ryan replied,

I understand and Sia and I appreciate that you're still willing to help. Speaking of which, I have this theory about the chancellor.

He then told Irene of his suspicions about the chancellor, about how he might have influenced Lisianthus' dad to start the war.

Alex replied,

"Yup, darling, I continue to write poetry when I have the time. Being with you is an inspiration. Maybe you've heard that writers have a muse? You're like my muse, my inspiration for writing."

William nodded to Stacey and replied, "Alright, pretty. I'll meet you at the entrance once I am all done."

Irene listened carefully to Ryan as he told her of his theory and after a few minutes of being silent, she replied,

I can understand what you are saying, Ryan, although I am not completely sure I support it. You see, the chancellor's main goal was the princess' powers. And she was right here between his hands-yet he let go of her when he knew it would harm her. So if he started a whole war just for her, her life wouldn't have probably mattered to him, correct?

Lycoris looked curiously interested and replied, "Really? So I inspire you to write poems? How come? I mean, how does that 'inspiration' happen?"

Stacey nodded and replied, "Ok, handsome." She turned to Mark and said, "It's good to see you, Mark."

She waved goodbye to William and Mark and then headed back to Lord Connelly's office.

Ryan replied,

Yeah, I guess so. So you think that Sia's dad didn't have any influences on his decision to start the war?

Somehow, Ryan felt certain that the chancellor had a hand in the matter.

Alex smiled softly at Lycoris and replied,

"Well, when I simply gaze upon your presence, all kinds of ideas come in my head. I could come up with some poetry to describe your beauty and kindness. A woman like you is so rare, like a rare flower that's only found in one small part of the world."

After Stacey had left, William continued to work hard by Mark's side, with both workers doing their best to finish as much progress as they could.

Irene replied,

I can't tell. I had been a duchess for a short time back then so I didn't have much of interaction with the previous king to study him well. But back then, it did sound like it was his own idea unless there was another influence we don't know of. The king did express much lament before his death and had it been someone else's influence, he would have mentioned it, I suppose.

Lycoris blushed shyly and she didn't know what to say for a moment. She replied happily,

"I wish I could say such sweet words like you do, Alex. Do you remember that poem you sang for me back at Devenshire? In the theater?"

Mark continued to work hard beside William, wanting to make the most of the afternoon hours and the good weather. Bill would make his rounds, making sure that everyone was at task and such.

As the sun was beginning to set, the bell rang, signaling that the work day was over. Mark turned to William and said, "Let's finish up here and then we can head home."

Ryan replied,

I see...I feel hesitant to ask this and I'll understand if you don't want to but is there any way you can sneak into the chancellor's office and find any evidence of wrongdoings, no matter what they may be? Even if the chancellor had nothing to do with the war, I still feel like something's off with him. I've felt that way about him ever since I first saw him.

Alex nodded and replied,

"I sure do, darling. I remember every one of our beautiful times together. They are precious memories to me. And I love you just the way you are. You never have to change for me, ok?"

William nodded and after finishing up his task, he gathered his tools and led the way to the storage shed where they put their tools away. Once they were done, he turned to Mark and said,

"I'll get going now, Mark. See you tomorrow."

Irene was surprised by Ryan's request that for a few moments, she didn't know what to say. She finally replied,

Ryan, you know this is such a big request, right? I mean, I'd do anything to help you two but breaking into the king's office-you know he's the king now-that won't be easy and if I am caught...

The idea sounded crazy to her although it would be useful if they found out some secrets.

Lycoris blushed happily and replied, "I won't. I love you the way you are, too, and I wouldn't change anything about you either."

She paused for a moment then continued, "Alex, how do you still love me even though I can't see anymore? Despite my disability and that I don't have my blue eyes anymore?"

Mark nodded and replied, "Aye, see you tomorrow, mate."

He then headed towards the wagon that would take the workers back into town.

Meanwhile, Stacey finished up her work and leaving Lord Connelly's office, she headed towards the entrance to meet William.

Ryan replied,

I understand. I don't want anything bad to happen to you. If I were there, I would just break in myself since I don't care if I get caught. Sia's my highest priority now. But perhaps we'll communicate with her most loyal maid and see if she's willing to help.

Alex gently squeezed Lycoris' hand and replied,

"Darling, as I told you yesterday, it's your inner beauty that I love. I did love your beautiful blue eyes but they weren't the only reason I fell in love with you. Your heart is so pure and innocent. I love the way you see the world and I want to be the one to show it to you. You have such a fascination with things that I hadn't seen in anyone else. I love you so much, darling. Always be you."

William headed towards the entrance and saw that Stacey was waiting for him there. Smiling happily as he approached her, he said,

"Hey, pretty. I am all done now so we can go back home together."

Irene replied,

There is no need to endanger a poor maid with it. I'll take care of it. I know what can happen if I get caught-that would be it for me-but it's worth it. The chancellor doesn't deserve to be a king and if there were something to expose him in his office, it has to be shown. I'll do it, Ryan.

Lycoris blushed deeply that she was lost for words. After a few moments of being silent, she looked down shyly and replied,

"You'll make me cry of happiness, Alex. I didn't think I might ever meet anyone who'd care for me this much and who? Someone as wonderful as you are. Thank you, Alex. I really don't know what else to say. Thank you. I love you so much."

Stacey hugged William and nodding, she replied, "I can't wait to go home and cook you a delicious dinner."

She held William's arm and waited for him to lead the way.

Ryan now felt hesitant about letting Irene go through with his idea and he replied,

Duchess, perhaps I can come up with another idea. I don't want to endanger you based on a suspicion and Sia would never forgive me if you were hurt. If only there was some way I could go through with it myself but there's no way that the chancellor would let me back in the castle.

Alex felt deeply touched by Lycoris' words and hugging her softly, he replied,

"I'll always love you, darling. No matter what happens, my love for you will never wither. You are the eternal flower that blooms even in the darkest of times."

William held Stacey's arm happily and led the way back to the hut. After a while of walking, the couple was back home and he led the way inside.

Irene thought about the matter for a few moments then replied,

Ryan, I don't think Lisianthus would ever allow you to be hurt, either. If I were caught, it would be less harsh than if you would be caught. The chancellor would have no mercy on you. Let me go through it and I am confident I can do it. Well, you know how strong I am, Ryan.

Lycoris happily returned the hug and smiled warmly, touched by Alex's words. She continued walking happily by his side, enjoying his warmth and presence.

Nerine could see the embrace and she was almost ready to attack Lycoris once more, had she not controlled herself.

After Stacey and William were safely back inside the hut, Stacey turned to him and said,

"What would you like for dinner, handsome? I could cook us a nice steak and mashed potatoes."

Ryan smiled to himself and replied,

Yes, I know. But please take all precautions. It would be good if you could sneak in there under a disguise or something. And if it's too risky, then don't do it. I'm sure Sia would agree with me that your safety is more important.

Alex continued to enjoy the walk with Lycoris, describing the different sights and such he saw to her. He felt happiest being in her presence, unaware that Nerine was getting more jealous of Lycoris.

William liked Stacey's idea and nodding happily, he replied,

"That sounds just wonderful, pretty. I'd love that and it would be a great meal to have, cooked by my one and only talented Stacey."

Irene replied,

I will, Ryan. You can count on me and I'll try to keep you updated as much as possible. In the meantime, take care of Lisianthus and yourself, Ryan. You're a good, strong man and Lisianthus is lucky to have you. She know who to give her heart to.

Lycoris continued walking by Alex's side and listening to how he described the sights to her. She would be excited as he would tell her of the different sights and would comment happily on how beautiful they sounded.

Soon enough, the party had gone around the autumn section, and was entering the winter section, which had a cold temperature.

Stacey blushed happily and nodding, she replied, "Ok, handsome. Dinner will be ready before you know it."

She then went into the kitchen to begin cooking dinner.

Ryan blushed and replied,

I will. Please take care and I'll do my best to contact you again as soon as possible.

He then closed off the telepathy and opened his eyes.

As they walked in the winter section of the park, Alex turned to Lycoris and said,

"Darling, we're entering the winter section now. It's much colder. If you get cold, let me know, ok? I'll do my best to keep you as warm as possible."

Meanwhile, William went to the coach where he sat down to rest after a tiring day of work, although he felt very happy.

Lisianthus observed that Ryan had finished his talk with Irene and looking at him with a little worry, she asked,

"Well? How did it go?"

Lycoris nodded and soon enough, the party were walking through the winter section, which was indeed much colder. Lycoris' body shivered a moment at the sudden change of temperature.

It took a little over 30 minutes but soon, dinner was all cooked and ready to be eaten. Stacey plated the food and then moved the plates to the table along with utensils and glasses of sparkling apple cider.

Once everything was ready, Stacey peeked her head out and said,

"Dinner's all ready, handsome."

Ryan looked at Lisianthus and after taking a breath, he replied,

"I think it went well. Duchess Irene isn't ready to talk to you yet but she is willing to help."

He then began to detail the discussion he and Irene had.

Alex observed Lycoris' actions and immediately, he took off his jacket. He then placed it over Lycoris' shoulders and said,

"I hope this will keep you warm. Winter does tend to be quite cold."

William heard Stacey calling for dinner and he got up, heading towards the kitchen. There, he saw dinner all laid out and looking absolutely delicious. Grinning happily, he commented,

"Looking as delicious as always, pretty."

Lisianthus listened to what Ryan told her about the discussion he had with Irene and although she had hoped that Irene would be willing to talk to her, she was relieved that she was still on their side and willing to help.

Once Ryan was done, Lisianthus nodded and replied, "I see. It does sound dangerous but I am sure Irene is up to it. Hopefully, she will be able to find something that could help us expose the chancellor."

Lycoris felt Alex put his jacket over her and quickly, she replied,

"Oh no, there is no need for that. I am fine. But I don't want you to catch a cold or something. Please take it back. I am really alright, Alex."

Stacey smiled and replied, "Thanks, handsome. I hope it tastes delicious, too."

She took her fork and knife and began to eat her steak.

Ryan nodded and replied, "Me, too. I worry about Duchess Irene's safety, though. I'm glad that she's willing to help but I don't want her to be in danger because of my idea."

However, Alex shook his head and replied, "I'm all right, darling. Really, I am. Your well-being is most important to me. And we won't be in the winter section for that long so keep the jacket until we're in another area, ok?"

William took his fork and took a bite of his steak as well. Smiling, he replied,

"Yup, it definitely tastes just as delicious."

He continued eating his dinner happily, enjoying the company and the evening.

Lisianthus nodded and looked troubled for just a moment. But then smiling to lighten the mood, she replied,

"Hey, I wouldn't worry about it. Irene is quite strong and I am sure she'll be as careful as possible. We have to believe in her, right?"

Lycoris blushed, touched by Alex's care and replied softly, "Thanks, Alex. I'll keep it then but if you feel cold, do tell me, ok? I don't want you to fall sick because of me or something."

Stacey replied, "I'm happy to hear such compliments from my handsome knight."

She continued to eat her dinner happily, enjoying William's presence all the while.

Ryan smiled and nodding, he replied, "Yeah, you're right. I'm sure Duchess Irene can handle herself."

Deciding to change the subject, he then said, "What do you want to do now, beautiful?"

Alex replied, "I will, darling. Now let's explore as much as possible."

He then began to describe the things he saw in the winter section, especially on how clean and pristine the snow was.

William continued eating his dinner as well, enjoying his time quite a lot. Deciding to make conversation, he said,

"I can't wait to see Megan again. I missed her a lot. And to know that this time, she's staying with us for good, it makes me to want to see her more."

Lisianthus smiled and looking lovingly at Ryan, she replied, "Well, if it doesn't bother my cutie, is it ok if we spend some time together alone-just the two of us? We hadn't done that in a bit."

Lycoris listened with amazement as Alex described the winter section to her. She asked,

"Hey, Alex, does the snow look similar to the snow back in the human world? Is it as white and cold?"

Stacey nodded and replied, "I feel the same way. The day after tomorrow, Megan will finally live with us. I'm sure she's as excited to move in as we are to have her."

Ryan nodded and returning the loving looks, he replied,

"Sure, I'd love that, beautiful. Is there anything in particular you'd like to do?"

Alex replied, "Yup, the snow here looks very much like the snow back in the human world. It's white and cold. Here, feel it."

He helped Lycoris to feel the snow nearby.

William nodded and replied, "Yup, I am sure of it too. I could see the amount of happiness on her face when we told her of the news. I don't think I'd seen her that happy before."

Lisianthus looked thoughtful for a moment then getting an idea, she replied,

"Hey, why don't we have a romantic dessert together? We haven't eaten that chocolate-strawberry cake we bought. How about it?"

Lycoris gently touched the snow and could feel how cold it was. Pulling her hand away, she giggled happily and replied,

"Yup, it's quite cold here, too. What about the animals? Are there those bunnies that were around in the human world?"

Indeed, there were a few bunnies that ran around, though they were a little different from the humans' world's. They came in different colors, such as blue, yellow, white and even pink. There were also a few squirrel-like animals, and a few birds that flew around.
