Romance RP

Matthew replied, "You can sure say that again."

He readied his stance, seeing what move the monster would make.

Alex replied, "If your touch is gentle, she'll stay there."

He helped guide Lycoris' hand to gently pet the bird's head, and the bird continued to chirp happily.

The monster had a club in his hand, and after roaring angrily, he swung it at both of them, meaning to hit them both with it. Anjela immediately fired the fireballs at his arm, forcing him to pull away, but he angrily made another swing with his free hand.

Lycoris petted the bird's head gently, making sure her touch is ever so soft and gentle. She smiled happily and said,

"It's the first time I touch a bird. She's so small and cute."

Matthew swung his fire sword at the monster, trying to push him away.  He had to look for an opening from which to attack the monster, as he didn't want to make any hasty moves.

The bird chirped happily and smiling, Alex said,

"Awww she really likes you, Lycoris, but that doesn't surprise me.  You're just so absolutely lovable."

The monster was pushed away as Matthew swung his sword at him, but then he gave another roar. It was a different one this time, as it immediately turned Matthew's sword into its normal state. Anjela gritted her teeth as she couldn't summon her fireballs either and muttered,

"Dammit. I can't use my magic anymore."

Lycoris blushed deeply and replied, "You flatter me, Alex but I love it. And I love this tiny bird. She's adorable. I am so happy you like me, little one."

She petted its head ever so gently.

Matthew said, "Then pure physical force it is.  I guess this is where I come in."

He weaved back and forth, moving quickly to try to confuse the monster as to where he would be.

The bird continued to chirp happily at Lycoris and then another bird landed next to the first one and chirped happily at Lycoris.  Alex smiled and said,

"Awww there's another little one.  You really are lovable, Lycoris, and these little guys know it."

The monster's eye moved back and forth with Matthew's movement. He roared angrily, frustrated at this swift movement, and started swinging his club everywhere, wanting to hit him. He ended up hitting some of the trees around them and almost hit Anjela, but she was able to avoid it at the last minute. She called out to Matthew,

"You are angering him. I hope you have a plan."

Lycoris' face lit up happily and replied, "No, they are just wonderful creatures and very friendly. I want to pet and play with all of them."

She reached out to the other bird, petting its head as well so gently.

Matthew grinned and replied, "Heh, I do."

He turned to the monster and sticking out his tongue at it, he said, "You're too slow!  You can't catch me."

Matthew then started running around the monster, going around in circles but keeping his sword upright and ready.

The other bird chirped happily upon feeling Lycoris' touch and smiling, Alex said,

"You really are loved, Lycoris.  This place is perfect, isn't it?"

The monster roared angrily and he went around himself as Matthew around him, angrily trying to hit him. He was getting frustrated but also dizzy, and he only hit around everywhere, trying to hit anything. Anjela stood nearby, ready to take part by shapeshifting if needed but for now, she waited to see what Matthew had in mind.

Lycoris blushed deeply and nodding happily, she said, "Yes, it's so wonderful. I am so very happy here-"

Her words were suddenly cut off as she pulled her hand away from the bird all of a sudden, feeling a surge of dark magic emerge from it. She held it with her other hand as she tried to control it but apparently, she was losing control all over.

Matthew watched the monster and observed at how dizzy it was getting.  His plan was working.  He continued to run around the monster, waiting until it was just dizzy enough.

The birds flew away and Alex wrapped his arms around Lycoris.  He hugged her tight and said,

"Lycoris, Lycoris, I'm here.  Fight it, whatever's trying to control you.  I love you and I won't let anything hurt you."

The monster was turning around as Matthew continued to run around him and indeed, in a few minutes, he had gotten quite dizzy. He continued to swing his club although his movements were slower and random, clearly worn out.

Lycoris held on tightly to Alex although the purple glow in her eyes strengthened and she seemed to space out. She tearfully murmured, 

"They are coming back. The voices are coming back. Stop, please. Leave me alone. Leave me alone."

(Ahh this will be my last post for now as I need to catch work and all. XD I'll post again tonight when I am back. See you tomorrow, phoenix. ^^)

Seeing his opportunity, Matthew took his sword and swung it at the club, hoping to knock it out of his hands.  Then he kicked with his feet, aiming at the monster's stomach.

Alex hugged Lycoris tighter and said, "You heard my angel.  Whoever or whatever these voices are, leave her alone, please.  Lycoris has been through enough and I will fight for her, protect her, love her forever."

The monster's club was indeed knocked out of his hands, but as Matthew kicked with his feet, he was able to hold his leg with his giant hand and thrust him away. Meanwhile, Anjela was preparing to shapeshift, as Matthew might need her help.

Lycoris didn't say anything for a moment and just held on tightly to Alex, but then her grasp seemed to loosen. Her eyes glazed over and smiling a bit uncharacteristically, she said, 

"It's okay. I am fine now. It's a lot easier to just give in, not resist."

Matthew was knocked to the ground although he was still able to hold onto his sword.  He got up, gritting his teeth, and said,

"Well, the bigger they are, the harder they fall."

He returned to his strategy of making the monster dizzier, running around in circles and weaving back and forth.

Alex knew what had happened and frowning a bit, he said,

"It's you again, isn't it?  The one I talked to last night?"

(I have to go out earlier than usual today for work, so I might not be able to post very much before doing so.  Just letting you know.  ^^)

(Ok, no problem. ^^)

The monster roared angrily as Matthew continued to run around in circles, and he started hitting with his hands everywhere, getting dizzier and more frustrated with Matthew's movement. He was starting to lose his balance although he continued hitting randomly around.

Lycoris cocked her head to the side in confusion and replied, 

"What? It's me, Alex. Lycoris. Why do you talk as though I am a different person? I am just blending in with the voices now. It's so much better."

Matthew continued to run around in circles, making the monster dizzier and dizzier.  He looked for his chance to knock it down, not wanting to strike too early.

Alex gently replied, "But I know you.  This isn't what you want.  You don't want those voices taking over.  I love you and the Lycoris I know, the kind, gentle, sweet angel is still inside."

The monster soon had become quite dizzy, and his movements gradually became slower until they were almost non-existent, soon losing his balance and falling to the ground.

Lycoris smiled and replied, "No, this is a lot better. I feel a lot more powerful when I listen to those voices. I'm okay now. Much better than before."

Her eyes glowed in a faint purple and although they looked normal, deep inside, they didn't have the real Lycoris' soft and kind looks.

(Back now from work.  I'll post now and then post more once I'm free.  ^^)

Matthew peered at the monster, wondering if it was knocked out.  He grinned and said,

"Well, it looks like my plan worked and I didn't even have to kill it."

Alex looked at Lycoris with worry in his eyes and gently replied, "But is this what you really want?  You told me yourself that you didn't want the voices to take over.  You want to stay true to yourself, don't you?"

(Welcome back. ^^)

The monster was knocked out indeed, and Anjela nodded, impressed. She said,

"That was smart. I'm sorry I didn't help out but I didn't want to make any unnecessary movements and foil your plan. I would suggest killing it though. It might awaken a little later and follow our tracks."

Lycoris furrowed her eyebrows and replied, "But it's much better this way. No need to resist anymore. If they will make me more powerful, then why should I resist? I'll listen to them."

(Free now.  I'll be gaming but I'm here until I go to sleep.  ^^)

Matthew looked conflicted and replied, "Hmm, so it might follow us by our smell?  Or by sight?"

He had an idea as to how to confuse the monster's senses but he wanted to know which sense he should confuse.

Alex replied, "Is this what you really want?  What you truly want?  If it is, I have no reason to resist."

Deep down, he had a feeling that this wasn't what Lycoris really wanted but he didn't know how to reach her.

(Coolies. ^^)

Anjela furrowed her eyebrows and replied, "I don't know how strong his smelling sense is but he could easily follow our footsteps. It's not like there are multiple paths around-just one."

Lycoris nodded and smiling, she said, "Yes, it is. It's easier this way."

Although Lycoris was smiling and seemed calm, the look in her eyes was as though she was possessed.

(I'm playing Umineko Answer Arcs and it reminds why I love this series.  XD)

Matthew nodded and fishing around in his bag, he took out a small vial full of yellowish liquid.  He approached the monster and uncorking the stopper, he poured the vial's contents into the monster's mouth.

Once he was done, he returned to Anjela and said, "That will confuse the monster's senses, all of them.  He won't be able to follow us."

Alex wasn't convinced but deciding not to push it for now, he replied, "Well, ok.  Umm, do you want to stay here for a while or do you want to head back?"

(I see. XD I've yet to try it out but it's on my wishlist. XD)

Anjela couldn't help but smile a bit and shaking her head to herself, she said, "You're a healer at the heart, aren't you? You wouldn't kill even a monster."

She paused then said, "Okay. As long as that thing can't follow us, I am ok. We should go before it wakes up."

Lycoris nodded and replied, "Let's stay. Don't want to cut our fun short, right?"

She continued to touch the flowers and smell them although something was definitely off with her.

(I think you're really going to like it.  It's a murder mystery but it also addresses the issue of magic vs. non-magic/humans means.  It's pretty cool.  ^^)

Matthew nodded and replied, "Yes, we should definitely go and yeah, I won't kill if there can be another way.  But don't you worry.  If I have to kill, then I will.  Anyway, let's go."

Alex nodded and replied, "Yes, you're right.  When you get hungry, you just let me know and we can return to the house."

He observed Lycoris, wondering how to get through to the Lycoris he knew and loved.

(Yup, that sure sounds like the kind of story I would like. XD Answer arcs is the sequel to the first game, right?)

Anjela nodded and together, they walked away from the monster and back on their path through the forest. As they did, Anjela commented,

"We might face another giant or tree monster but I don't recall other creatures in this place, unless something new comes up."

Lycoris nodded happily and continued observing the flowers. As she did, she spaced out a bit and quietly said, 

"There is something I need to do. Should we head back to the house and have something to eat first though?"

(Yup, that's right.  Even though I bought Answer Arcs during the winter sale, I'm only getting around to it now.  I'm trying to ease myself back into longer VNs.  XD)

Matthew nodded and replied, "I understand.  So we might encounter more of the same creatures we fought before but nothing new for a while.  Is that right?"

Alex nodded and replied, "Sure, that sounds fine.  What do you need to do exactly?"

He was curious as to what this Lycoris was thinking.
