| Early today I read in the newspaper about this thing called "April Fool's Virus", so I went on the internet to check on the issue and found several articles related to it. Here's one of them, its from CNN. http://edition.cnn.com/2009/TECH/03/24/conficker.computer.worm/From the article, it says that the virus will activate on April 1st to attack unprotected computers that are infected by it. It works like a worm virus and once the worm digs deep into the computer system, it will be difficult to find. Microsoft recommended that the users download their Malware Remover Tool in order to clean up this Conficker Virus that was who knows, earlier infected the user's PC. http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspxI used it a moment ago, scanned for like 2 hours and found several of them O_O If you are worried about your computer getting infected with Conficker worm, you might want to download it right now because once the worm activates, it will block your computer from download/surfing any website/utility that provides computer security, protection and whatsoever. Well, I half believe this stuff too lol. But why April Fool? It sorta makes me feel like I've got fooled or something. | |

| Hi Kinn, Thanks for the info. ^^ I read a couple of articles about this virus, too, and definitely computers users out there need to protect their comps before April 1st. I'll add some additional info. It's recommended that all users get the MS08-067 patch which can be found in the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-067.mspx It's very important to install this before April 1st. If you're not sure whether you already have the patch, you can do the following: Go to Control Panel-Programs and Features-View installed updates, and see if KB958644 is listed. Older computers may not have the patch but in my case, since this is a brand new comp (less than a month old), it already had the patch so I'm all taken care of. | |

| @Kinnison Thanks for sharing. I did a scan and so far all looks good. Looked like we'll need to be on the watch out for hackers who are trying to pull the "ultimate" April Fool prank by infecting everyone else with their virus. At least this program will hopefully help to prevent and remove most of them.

| Here's some tip to find where malware always hide.
In each partition there will be a System Volume Information, which is hidden and inaccessible manually so you will need an antivirus or that Microsoft's Malware Remover Tool to scan it.
Also its best to scan them in partitions one by one, scanning the whole computer in one shot takes longer. | |

| Hi all, I was doing some online surfing and found this site. You can go to it and see if your comp has possibly been infected by the Conficker virus: http://www.baylor.edu/its/security/conficker/April 1st has come and gone but some say that the virus may still be lurking about so check the above link and follow the instructions. | |

| Also make sure you check your computer bi-weekly just in case of any hidden bugs that may be harmful to it in the future | |
