| Hi everyone, This is a bit late for me to post this but better late than never and hopefully, everyone will have had a chance to read this. A few days ago, there was an article out which warned that Internet Explorer (from versions 5.0 to version 8.0-the beta version) has a major security loophole. Apparently, hackers can hack and find gaming passwords (something like that). Currently, Microsoft is working on a fix for this but in the meantime, it's recommended that online users use other Internet browsers like Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc. I use Firefox so it's all good but I wanted to spread the word about this issue. If anyone is interested in learning more, I'll try to find the article about it. | |

| @Aya:
No disrespect or anything but the article I read was dated only a few days ago. Now I don't know about the forum you're talking about but the issue might be similar-not completely the same, though. So what I read is current and has now been made public.

| Umm I need a more exact link, please. It would take a while to search through everywhere to find the issue.
And I doubt that it would be the same issue. If it were, why would there be an article on it now? Why wouldn't have people been warned about it before and now Microsoft is currently making a patch to fix the issue?
I don't mean to come down hard like this but there are some loopholes that don't make sense in the argument and I'm not one to tolerate loopholes well.

| Yup, that's the one. And it's dated this week so I was right about that. Thanks for finding it, Love. And yeah, I know it's such a shock so it's recommended to switch to another browser for the time being, at least until Microsoft fixes this. | |

| Hi Elie, No problem. ^^ I'd switched over to Firefox although I was a longtime IE user. Switched since IE would respond slowly at times for me. Anyway, I told my dad about this, too, since he mainly uses IE. I advised him to switch to Firefox for the time being until there can be a patch for the problem. | |

| Firefox is much faster in speed than IE but the downside is that it speed up your computer by force, so it might not be good to use it with other programs along. But in the end, Firefox is still good ^^
As for the hacking, IE 7 is the most vulnerable of all the versions, so if you have that version, don't use it for now. (Not that I cared much of it since I'm a firefox fan who despised the slowlessness of IE j/k) =P

| And its the same way for a person using Linux to hack, I heard that its a piece of cake for a Linux user to hack a website via its command prompt (Of course its a different issue but Linux is often used by experts and also hackers I believe) | |

| yeah again with the hacking, i thought hackers mainly use EI since it doesn't have total protection. firefox has like its own personal firewall. but anyway i think we should all learn hacking to prevent hackers. im building a website out of scratch right now, and im learning more hacking skills so i could protect the forum if ever i finished it. | |

| Well, I think that it's important how to learn to protect oneself from becoming a victim of hacking. There are some tips out there although it looks like the hackers won't stop. (Meh, they should find another hobby.) But learning how to hack-I wouldn't recommend that in most cases. That's kind of like the only way not to become a victim of a robbery is to learn how to become a thief. I suppose that kind of info can be useful when in the right hands but there are plenty of crazies out there. (I can name a few off the top of my list. ) | |
